Movies — They move us to tears, laughter, and revelations alike. These movies have done just that for me.
All Time Favorite - UP
UP stole all of our hearts when it came out in theaters in 2009. It was a movie that everyone loved; there was a humorous dog, sad love story, and a beautiful friendship that healed our broken hearts in the end. Over the years this has stayed one of the movies I can call a favorite.
Favorite from 2013/2014 - The Great Gatsby
I was unable to pick a movie from the past year that really stood out to me, so I picked one from 2012. After reading the book for school, I was a bit skeptical about the movie, and was pleasantly surprised. The way they scored the party scenes was very interesting to me: they used popular songs and artists from our generation to show the energy and excitement of the parties versus music that would have actually been played at a raging party in the 1920s.
These movies are a few of my favorites as well. Up is such a tear jerker! It is one of my favorite Disney/Pixar flicks. I really loved The Great Gatsby as well even though it got a lot of negative feedback because of its differences to the book. The soundtrack and spectacle of the movie definitely made it a great one to watch!
ReplyDeleteI love "Up." I've heard such mixed reviews of "The Great Gatsby," but I'm likely to see it eventually just because of Leonardo DiCaprio.
ReplyDeleteKatie! haha you just listed two of my top five movies (: I love both of them so much and i'm glad you love them as much as I do as well. I read the book The Great Gatsby before watching the movie and I too was pleasantly surprised as to how good it was.
ReplyDeleteYou always manage to get catchy titles for your blog...I've seen "The Great Gatsby" n I pretty much liked it. Even I have this as one of my favorite movies " great minds, great tastes"...
ReplyDeleteUP is by far my favorite fixer movie of the 2000s! better love story than most sappy un-animated films. As weird as this sounds, i still haven't had a chance to see the Great Gatsby but i heard incredible things about it. i'll take your (and everybody else's) word for it and check it out one of these days! good picks!!!
